Megawide Construction Corp, a construction company in the Philippines, has announced that it is planning a 30MW data center outside Manila, its first data center.
Based to the south of Manila in Cavite, the facility will have a capacity of up to 30MW, with the first phase pegged to launch within the first quarter. Further to this, the company has outlined that it will initially invest around P7 billion ($127.6m) to expand into its new data center business.
The company first announced its intention to stem in to the data center arena back in September. At the time, chief executive officer Edgar Saavedra said that Megawide would be focussing on building “pandemic resilient” infrastructure assets in the next three to five years.
