PDG acquires new data center in Singapore

Princeton Digital Group this week announced the acquisition of Yahoo’s Singapore data center, SG3 which offers 5MW across 5,400 sqm (58,125 sq ft).  Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Yahoo will continue to host its infrastructure at the facility. 
 

Rangu Salgame, chairman, CEO and co-founder of PDG said: “The acquisition of Yahoo’s SG3 data center is another illustration of PDG’s three-pronged investment strategy of greenfield development, carve-outs, and acquisition. Along with a strategic asset, we gain an important customer in Yahoo and additional capacity to serve PDG’s customers,. Through this acquisition, we continue to be in alignment with Singapore’s strategy of unlocking additional data center capacity by driving greater energy efficiency at existing data centers.”

Aaron Lake, CIO & SVP of platforms engineering at Yahoo, added: “As we invest in key initiatives to drive growth and innovation, our partnership with Princeton Digital Group in Singapore will continue to support Yahoo’s global strategy.”
