Pan-African digital infrastructure firm Paratus has launched a new teleport in Pretoria, marking its second teleport in South Africa. Paratus announced the launch of the new Goedehoop Teleport in Doornkloof, some 50 miles north of Johannesburg.
Managing director of Paratus South Africa, Kallie Carlsen, said, “This teleport’s quality is attributable to our hard work and dedication, and we are excited to launch it. The fact that we also offer colocation services to other satellite operators shows our commitment and expertise in building world-class infrastructure. We offer an unequaled service across the entire region. Goedehoop is a major investment for Paratus; its importance cannot be overstated as it makes our offering in the region unequaled and confirms our innate strength for always providing high-quality connectivity.”
Paratus Group operates four Tier III-quality data centers across southern Africa in Angola, Zambia, and Namibia. The company’s website also notes that its network comprises five teleports, three of which are owned and located in Angola, Namibia, and South Africa.
