Open DC launches PE2 data center in Penang, Malaysia

APAC operator Open DC has launched a new data center in Penang, Malaysia, a 30MW facility, PE2, which is located at Bayan Lepas Technology Park, is now the largest data center on the island of Penang.

Yab Tuan Chow Kon Yeow, chief minister of Penang, said: “The establishment of PE2 marks a pivotal step in Penang’s journey toward becoming a digitally advanced, low-carbon economy. As a strategic infrastructure anchor, PE2 will accelerate high-value investments, spark innovation, and enhance Penang’s global competitiveness in next-generation technologies.”
