OneAsia, a Hong Kong-based data center firm, is expanding out of Greater China. The firm is planning to build a data center in Busan, South Korea. OneAsia says the data center will be developed in the Mieum Industrial Park in Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone. The data center campus will cover up to 947,200 square feet of space, and it will have up to 80MW of capacity. The facility is scheduled to be in operation in Q1 2024.

According to an announcement from the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone, OneAsia will be investing $630 million in the project. OneAsia believes the new campus will be a regional critical IT hub in the Northern Asian region. The company also said the facility would help usher in multi-national internet-based firms into the Korean market.
