Over the next five years, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT) intends to invest $59 billion in data centers, AI, and other "growth areas." At least $11 billion will be allocated to expanding or modernizing its data centers. The digital industry, which includes AI and robotics, receives at least $22 billion.

The company anticipates a 20 percent increase in earnings before taxes, depreciation, amortization, and interest for the fiscal year ending in March 2028, in contrast to the previous fiscal year. That should translate to approximately $29.4 billion in earnings.

NTT will launch a new company in June to market its Innovative Optical and Wireless Network (IOWN) technology, which is intended to lead to all-photonics networks that consume less energy and transmit more data.
