NTT: NTT signs 70MW solar PPA in Japan

NTT has announced that it has signed a PPA through which it will procure solar energy in Japan. Clean Energy Connect Co Ltd is the partner who will deploy solar power generating capacity for the company, and assist the group in achieving its aim of becoming carbon neutral by 2040. The project is set to be finalized by 2023

Prior to this 2040 deadline, the company aims to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions of NTT DOCOMO and the data center units by 80% (compared to 2013 levels) by 2030. 

According to research, while increasing, PPAs in Japan are not common, with fewer than two dozen such PPA's in the country.
