NTT: NTT is expanding its Vienna data center

NTT has announced that it has broken ground on expanding its data center in Vienna, Austria. The company will add 32,300 square feet (3,000 square meters) to the Vienna 1 facility. By so doing, Vienna will have 92,500 square feet (8,600 square meters) upon expansion. NTT says the expansion is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2022.

CEO of NTT Australia, Nora Lawender, said the company would be able to offer its customers 15.2MW of IT capacity from the facility in summer 2022. She noted that there’s a massive increase in the demand for data center services in Austria. Lawender also revealed that the company is also looking at more expansion opportunities to meet this surging demand.

Besides, the federal government has also pledged to invest €4.12 million ($4.8m) into NTT’s expansion project. The company also said it would continue to invest in Austria into the future.
