Belgian IT services provider Win and its data center affiliate Wallonia Data Center have been bought by Belgian ICT company NRB Group. This week, the business disclosed that it had purchased Nethys, a telecom owned by Enodia, as well as Win and its affiliate Wallonia Data Center (WDC). The transaction, which is expected to be worth $53.6 million, will likely close before the end of 2023's second quarter. The CEO of the NRB Group, Henri Thonnart, claimed that WIN and NRB are strategically complimentary. The two companies' cooperation will produce a strong player to hasten digital transformation.
The Wallonia Data Center is a Tier III carrier-neutral data center in Belgium with 14,000 square feet of space. It is situated on Rue de la Science Villers-le-Bouillet. 1,800 on-site photovoltaic panels that the firm installed may provide about 10% of the site's electrical needs. Win purchased WDC in 2013. NRB and Etix Everywhere previously collaborated on a Belgian data center in Villers-le-Bouillet, which is located on the other side of Rue de la Science.
NRB, a company that provides consulting, software, cloud, and managed services under a number of trademarks, was established in 1987 as the joint IT division and data center of Belgian insurer Ethias and several energy companies. Three data centers are housed in separate buildings at the company's main location in Herstal, close to Liège. The most recent of these was constructed in 2010. The bank Degroof Petercam has been given the go-ahead to conduct the deal by Nethys.
