Dubai: Nokia Reveals Plans to Build Open Innovation lab in Dubai, UAE

Finnish vendor Nokia has revealed plans to launch an Open Innovation lab in Dubai, UAE, to drive its Cloud RAN in the Middle East and Africa region. In a release, the vendor explained that the initiative will increase the regional focus of its established collaborations with Dell Technologies and Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
Nokia also revealed plans to develop its Cloud RAN advancements with Dell HPE and other hyperscales at the new lab. Mikko Lavanti, senior vice president of mobile networks at Nokia, MEA, said, "We are excited to launch our Open Innovation Lab in MEA, reaffirming our commitment to drive innovation with our partners in key future technology areas, including Dell and HPE."
Lavanti added, "This collaboration will accelerate the adoption of new technologies in our region. We can help both operators and enterprises enhance network efficiency and performance as well as unlock new monetization opportunities."
Besides developing its Cloud RAN in this lab, Nokia has noted that it also intends to push private wireless and industrial networks to showcase industry use of 4.0 cases and Edge applications through its Industrial Edge.
