Microsoft has partnered with LG Electronics to deploy LG Electronics' cooling infrastructure across an unspecified number of upcoming AI data centres. News of this partnership comes as the company recently launched a full suite of data center cooling solutions at Data Center World, packaging existing and new solutions together.
"Between the data for our phones on the go, our laptops at work and our smart TVs at home, data centers play a crucial role in our day-to-day lives, and cooling solutions are a critical component for equipment to run as expected," said Steve Scarbrough, general manager of LG Air Conditioning Technologies.
"LG aims to be a unique player in the market, helping to meet demands of future data center projects and make specifying and development easier with our efficient end-to-end cooling solution offerings."
The company said that it will work with Microsoft to deploy LG's thermal management systems and chiller technologies at 'next generation' data centers. The size and scope of the deal were not announced.
