The introduction of Tesla in Mexico and the pursuit of automation will exert pressure not just on the automobile sector but also on Data Centers and telecom networks. The electrification of automobiles will need the construction of a higher number of chargers. With the use of data centers, information may be gathered from existing charging stations to improve the network's efficiency. As the manufacturing of electric automobiles by Tesla and other automakers such as BMW, General Motors, VW, and Ford increases, factories specializing in producing auto parts will also need to automate their procedures.
Jorge Bleizeffer, sales director for the north, west, and pacific zone of Panduit, Mexico, explained that Tesla would begin with electric cars but that these automobiles can also be driven independently. However, achieving this requires a very high level of connectivity. Ultimately, all information communication goes to a Data Center, which becomes the center of the back-and-forth of information for companies such as Tesla. The building of data centers is expanding in Mexico. As per data from the consulting company Statista, there are 154 Data Centers in the United States. Most of these facilities are placed in Querétaro because it is outside a seismic zone, and land is still available to construct more locations.
Yet, this is also the case in Guadalajara, Monterrey, and even Mexico City. Companies like Kio Networks, Telmex, Huawei, Panduit, Megacable, and Ascenty operate Data Centers. This Brazilian corporation stated that it has begun building its third Data Center in Queretaro, which will be completed in 18 months after a $150 million investment.
