Facebook: Meta's Kuna, Idaho, data center paused as part of wider AI redesign plans

The latest data center to take the hit in Meta's AI redesign rethink is its Kuna, Idaho, data center. The facility, an $800 million development, was only announced by the giant in February, with the company commencing work on the project in September.

Speaking about the company's decision to pause the facility, for the time being, the company said: "In order to best serve our needs for the future, we have decided to change the design of our data center in Kuna which may result in a temporary construction slowdown while we update our plans."

Adding: "We remain committed to this community, our local stakeholders, and our supply chain partners. We will work closely with our stakeholders to transition this project design as efficiently as possible."
