According to Biz Journal, Meta will be the first tenant at the new large data center campus in Kansas, Missouri. Plans for a Golden Plains Technology Park, also known as Project Velvet, were first submitted in 2021. The developer has plans for a 510,000 square meters (5.5 million square feet) data center with 16 buildings at the site. The Biz Journal report shows that Meta will be occupying over 375 acres of the campus. Meta will also have three buildings at the park.

Although Meta hasn’t publicly announced its tenancy, multiple reliable sources confirmed the news. The developer of Project Velvet plans to site the project on over 760 acres of land. Reports have it that the campus will hit 100% operational capacity by the end of 2032.
