maincubes is building another colocation data center in Schwalbach near Frankfurt. The new data center will have a sustainable design. The sustainable design of the new facility will include efficient UPS systems that use green power and a waste heat recovery system. It will also have an innovative indirect free cooling that operates on a closed-circuit basis.

The data center will be called FRA02, and operations at the facility are scheduled to start in summer 2023. The facility will have 75,347 square feet of white space for IT and office space, with a 20MW capacity. CEO of maincubes, Oliver Menzel, said FRA02 would extend the Company’s European data center network while focusing on sustainability. He further added that the facility would help the Company contribute to the green digital transformation.

maincubes says it chose Schwalbach for the facility because of its great local power and telecommunication infrastructures. The Company also chose Schwalbach because there are necessary frameworks in place for sustainable data center operations.
