NTT: Macquarie Partnering With NTT To Further NTT's European & North American Expansion

NTT and Macquarie Asset Management are partnering up to invest in data centers. These firms announced that they had entered a strategic real estate partnership that covers NTT’s wholesale facilities across North America and Europe. The agreement will see Macquarie invest real estate capital with NTT to support NTT’s expansion into the two continents. The companies did not reveal specifics of the deal, like how much would be invested. However, according to Nikkei, Macquarie will acquire the majority share in companies that own NTT facilities in the US and Europe for about 100 billion yen ($816 million).

The Global Head of Real Estate for Macquarie, Brett Robson, said the company sees this investment opportunity as a great one. He added that NTT is the right partner as the company has a fantastic global footprint and an excellent operational and development history. The President of NTT Ltd., Masaaki Moribayashi, also commented on the development. He said NTT has great plans to develop and operate more data centers, and the partnership with Macquarie will help achieve them.
