Legrand, an international leader in electrical and digital building infrastructures, has introduced the latest version of smart rack Power Distribution Units (PDUs). The Server Technology PRO4X and Raritan PX4 rack PDUs are poised to revolutionize power management in data centers with superior visibility, innovative hardware, and enhanced security. Raritan and Server Technology rack PDUs have been created to offer a previously unattainable level of capacity management, workload optimization, environmental tracking, and digital as well as physical access control.
The ability of the new generation PDUs to evaluate all harmonic distortion at the cabinet and device phases, a first in the industry, is crucial to their performance. This gives data center administrators the most accurate (+/- 0.5%) power quality tracking and metric capabilities, including waveform recording. Circuit Breaker Trip Forensics with Waveform Capture is a feature of the PRO4X and the PX4. This novel feature enables administrators of facilities to identify the exact outlet and potential cause of a tripped circuit breaker, thereby preventing similar incidents.
The new products also feature alternating outlets and extended power distribution, High-Density Outlet Technology (HDOT) and HDOT Cx outlets, a 45-degree angle infeed, and other features. In addition, they guarantee secure encrypted communication by default for all PDU data, thereby enhancing white space security.
