Legal & General (L&G) has entered into a seven-year arrangement with Kyndryl to use the latter's hybrid cloud infrastructure (HCI). The association between Kyndryl, Microsoft, and Dell provides access to Dell servers via Azure Stack HCI. The deal between L&G and Kyndryl is valid until the end of March 2030; however, the terms of the financial transaction have not been disclosed.
Kyndryl will be responsible for moving L&G's IT systems to a new data center that will house the HCI solution. L&G hopes that by implementing the on-premises Microsoft Azure hybrid cloud platform along with an IBM zCloud mainframe, they will have a solution with minimal latency that will also facilitate future cloud migrations. Kyndryl asserts that the agreement will enable L&G to access carbon-efficient services and reduce its technical debt.
Legal & General is a global provider of life insurance, annuities, and investment management services in the United Kingdom. The company's relationship with Kyndryl dates back to when the IT services provider was still a subsidiary of IBM. The company utilizes Amazon Web Services (AWS) to allow consumers worldwide access to their data regardless of regulatory regimes.
