NTT: Johannesburg 1 to open in South Africa in April 2022

NTT has announced that it is “on track” to complete the turnkey data center development of its Johannesburg 1 Data Centre, located at Centralpoint Innovation District in Samrand, by early next year.

The facility, developed by Growthpoint, includes 6,000sqm of IT space and features “high-end offices” accompanied by an NTT Technology Experience Lab (TEL).

It is set to launch in April 2022.

In Africa and the Middle East by Dimension Data represents the company. Speaking about the facility, Estienne de Klerk, Growthpoint’s SA CEO, commented: “Dimension Data has been meticulous in its stipulations for the high-quality NTT Johannesburg 1 Data Centre. Working with them is an excellent experience as we understand their world-class requirements and can help them achieve this in the localised context of South Africa.”
