: Interxion Developing New 13.6MW Data Center in Belgium

Digital Realty’s Interxion has broken ground on a new facility in Belgium. The company laid the first stone of the data center called BRU4, which will be located in Zaventem, Belgium. According to Interxion, the data center will offer 13.6MW of capacity. It will also offer 72,100 square feet (6,700 square meters) of floor space. The facility is scheduled to open in 2013.

Interxion will also invest over €100 million ($108.6m) to develop the data center. The Managing Director of Interxion, Dirk Van de Geer, said there had been a massive demand for data center infrastructure in Brussels. In light of this, the company is developing the BRU4 facility to meet this demand.
