Intel announces layoff plans across its Californian campuses

Intel has announced its plans to lay off 311 employees across two Californian campuses. This marks the second round of job cuts carried out by the company in California this year. 

Two separate "worker adjustment and retraining notifications" (WARNs) filed with the State of California’s Employment Development Department on November 3 noted that the company is eliminating 76 roles from its Santa Clara headquarters and a further 235 roles from its R&D campus in Folsom.

An Intel spokesperson said, “Intel is working to accelerate its strategy while reducing costs through multiple initiatives, including some business and function-specific workforce reductions in areas across the company. These are difficult decisions, and we are committed to treating impacted employees with dignity and respect,”
