ImpactData has announced it is expanding on its $130 million plan for a 115,000 sq ft mixed-use facility, named the "Dream Center." First announced in 2022 and to be located at Gateway Research Park South Campus, the space will provide commercial colocation, supercomputing, and, now, education services for North Carolina A&T State University
The company has outlined there will be 28 jobs created around a 10MW colocation data center, which is being built at no cost to the University, but instead funded by commercial customers. ImpactData also shared it has received data center design and financing help from DigitalBridge.
Following the issuance of a $500,000 grant to the company, Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan commented: "In the past five years the city has been intentional about making equitable investments, especially as it relates to East Greensboro. ImpactData is adding to the variety of innovation taking place in the Gateway Research Park while setting the foundation for those seeking careers in the technology sector."
