HPE has appointed Neil MacDonald as the head of the company’s HPC and AI business segment, in addition to his current role leading the company’s compute unit. In his new role, he will oversee the team responsible for developing HPE’s AI strategy, integrating the company’s HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform with other cloud and software solutions.

MacDonald wrote on LinkedIn, “As I step into an expanded role leading both the HPC and AI and compute business groups at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, my focus remains the same: providing the best business outcomes for our customers. As an engineer at heart, it's an honor to lead the HPC and AI team to advance our AI strategy by scaling our cloud and software solutions with a strong integration of HPE GreenLake."

He added,  "At the same time, our market-leading compute business continues to serve as an engine to power HPE’s accelerating growth, and I’m thrilled to continue leading this team as we deliver the industry’s broadest range of compute engineered for the hybrid world."
