Oil company HF Sinclair has launched an immersion cooling fluid for high-density workloads which it announced this month as a line of single-phase immersion cooling fluids under a new brand, Innovate. Developed by HF Sinclair’s Lubricants & Specialties business, Innovate is a series of dielectric thermal management fluids formulated with proprietary, ultra-pure, highly refined alkanes (HRA) technology.

Through our fundamental research and formulating capabilities, as well as our established commercial brands, the HF Sinclair Lubricants and Specialties business has a proven track record of deploying dielectric fluids to protect electrical infrastructure in demanding environments. We’ve applied this expertise to Innovate, which is designed to meet the unique challenges of high-performance computing."
The range comprises three products: Yarra, Garda, and Peyto. Each has different viscosity and thermal conductivity properties. The company said HRA enables heat transfer capabilities while offering broad compatibility with materials required for immersed compute applications and oxidative stability.
