Google is reportedly looking to expand its data center site development in Omaha, Nebraska after it first announced and filed to build a data center near State Street and Blair High Road to the northwest of the city in April. Now, according to reports, the giant has applied to rezone an additional 187 acres next to the 270-acre data center site already under construction.

The search and cloud company first filed documents, which indicated that the site would span four data center buildings totaling more than 1.4 million square feet (130,050 sqm). However, filings show that it’s aiming to rezone and expand the site to 2.2 million gross square feet (204,400 sqm) in floor area.

The original filings showed that construction could take between 18 to 24 months, with around $750 million injected into the project.
