Google: Google Buys Mandiant for $5.4 billion

Google has announced that it is acquiring Mandiant for $5.4 billion. This will be Google’s second-largest acquisition in history. Mandiant is a cybersecurity firm founded in 2004. The firm offers many threat detection and response services. Mandiant will also be joining Google Cloud upon the completion of the deal. 

The CEO of Google Cloud, Thomas Kurian, said companies across the globe are at risk of unprecedented cybersecurity challenges. He added that the gravity of these challenges is high because these threats used to be targeted at major governments. Kurian further said Google is looking forward to adding Mandiant to Google Cloud to further strengthen its security operations suite and advisory services. It will also help Google Cloud’s customers solve their most important security problems.
