FMC Globalsat has acquired Santander Teleport, located in Spain. The Santander Teleport was formed as a joint venture between MTN Satellite Communications and Erzia in 2010. It spans over 9,290 square meters (100,000 square feet) and operates up to 30 antennas. These antennas range from 3 to 15 meters, and it enables Ka, Ku, C, and X reception and transmission. The acquired site also includes a Tier III data center. Reports also show that the data center would be upgraded to Tier IV before the end of the year.
FMC Globalsat was founded in 2017 and has its headquarters in Florida, USA. It offers wireless and satellite solutions to customers in commercial shipping, cruise, renewable energy, oil & gas, and yachting sectors. FMC first announced the acquisition in October 2021, but the deal is now finalized. None of the companies revealed the terms of the transaction.
The CEO of FMC, Emmanuel Cotrel, said: "We are proud to welcome Santander Teleport, and its talented employees, within the FMC organization. We are optimistic about the opportunity to accelerate Santander Teleport's growth, and its capability to innovate and remain at the forefront of delivering excellent service to our discerning customers, particularly in light of the LEO satellite deployment and associated growing demand for data center hosting services".
