Fleet has begun construction on its first data center facility near Reno, Nevada. Local reports say the company broke ground this week at an event attended by Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo. The project will deliver a 230MW data center on a 256-acre site in Storey County owned by Tract.
The Fleet project near Reno, Nevada has been fully leased to an unnamed AA-rated, investment-grade tenant with a market capitalization exceeding $3 trillion under a 197-month (16.4-year) triple-net lease. The land for the 230MW facility sits within a larger Storey County development by Tract, which has been assembling more than 11,000 acres in the area since announcing its plans in 2023. Founded by former Cologix CEO Gran Van Rooyen, Tract focuses on preparing and zoning land for data center development rather than building facilities itself.
Fleet was launched by Tract to build data centers within Tract’s planned campuses and other sites, with a focus on mega-scale, single-tenant campuses of 500MW or more. Its Storey County project marks Fleet’s first confirmed development. The tenant has not been disclosed, though reports in February suggested Nvidia as a potential lessee.
