Energy Internet Corporation (EIC), a startup for renewable energy for data centers, has teamed up with Lummus Technology to use compressed air to store excess energy. The Companies seek to use this stored energy when renewable energy sources like wind and solar aren’t available.

EIC will be providing the software for managing power systems. On the other hand, Green Circle LLC, a subsidiary of Lummus Technology, will be in charge of the process technology. Lummus created green Circle to offer lasting solutions, including the production of fuels and chemicals for biomass and decarbonization of refineries.

The founder of Energy Internet Corporation, Shankar Ramamurthy, said that it is possible to store lots of energy in underground reservoirs. He further added that gas Companies could use their depleted oil and gas reservoirs to leverage into clean energy.
