Digital Realty Trust: Digital Realty unveils high-density colocation solu with 70kW racks in 28 markets

Digital Realty, a global leader in the data center industry, has introduced a high-density colocation service in 28 markets across North America, EMEA, and Asia Pacific. The new service supports up to 70 kilowatts per rack of computing power. Digital stated that the increased rack densities were enabled by "innovative Air-Assisted Liquid Cooling (AALC) technologies." According to a spokesperson, these are "rear door heat exchangers on racks."

Scott Mills, SVP of engineering and customer solutions at Digital Realty, stated that while they already back hundreds of high-performance computing deployments across their portfolio, they have listened to their customers and gone one step further by offering standardized configurations and ultra-high power densities. This offering will allow businesses to realize new opportunities, rapidly deploy high-performance infrastructure on a global platform and achieve optimal performance in the era of artificial intelligence.

Dave Driggers, CTO of Cirrascale Cloud Services, a customer of Digital, added that Cirrascale is relying on international data center providers like Digital Realty to provide high-density colocation services that can support the significant per rack kilowatt demands that the newest accelerators necessitate.
