Digital Realty has applied to construct a new data center in Los Angeles, California. The company has applied to construct a thirteen-story data center at 727 S Grand Avenue in downtown Los Angeles. The prospective applicant is GIP 7th Street LLC, a well-known subsidiary of Digital Realty. At present, the site is a multi-story parking garage.

Across the street from the Digital Realty LAX10 data facility at 600 W. 7th Street, the proposed building would encompass approximately 486,000 square feet of floor space. From 1914 until the early 1990s, 600 W. 7th Street was a large department store for the JW Robinson Company. Presently, the seven-story LAX10 offers 27MW over a footprint of 490,000 sq ft. The One Wilshire carrier hotel is only one block from this prominent carrier hotel in the area. In 2004, Digital acquired the site.

LAX12 is situated at 2260 East El Segundo Boulevard in El Segundo and provides 18MW over 132,000 square feet.
