Digital Realty has announced the opening of a new data center in Hong Kong. The company first announced that it was constructing the facility in July 2020. The HKG11 facility is a 210,000 square feet (21,000 square meters) building with 24MW of capacity. In addition, the building has twelve floors, with eight being dedicated to customer deployments.
CEO of Digital Realty, William Stein, commented on the opening of the new data center. He said the company’s second data center in Hong Kong would help deliver better coverage, capacity, and connectivity capabilities to satisfy the increasing demand from enterprises that want to scale their digital footprint across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
The data center is located at 11 Kin Chuen Street, and it is Digital Realty’s second data center in Hong Kong. The existing Hong Kong facility was acquired in 2012, and it has a capacity of up to 18MW.
