Data center fires and power failures have more than doubled since 2024, according to the Energy Incident Register. Reported incidents rose from eight in 2024 to 20 in 2025 and 19 in 2026. Of 93 incidents recorded across 26 countries since 2010, 47 occurred from 2024 onward. The US recorded 33 incidents, followed by the UK with 14.
