CyrusOne is required to construct a new data center in Frankfurt, Germany. Last week, the company unveiled plans for its seventh data center facility in Frankfurt, designated FRA7 and situated on a 678,125-square-foot plot in the Frankfurt Westside business park. The development will include two three-story buildings with 81MW distributed across nine data halls.

The demolition and site clearance will be completed by the end of the first quarter 2024. The construction will commence in the third quarter of 2024 and be completed in the second quarter of 2026. More than 1,800 square meters of building walls and rooftops will be "green," the development will feature 5,500 square meters of open green space and the planting of over sixty trees. Waste heat reuse methods will be implemented in both buildings, which can deliver 40MW of waste heat to the campus heating network.

BEOS AG and its parent company, Swiss Life Asset Managers, administer Frankfurt Westside, a 73-hectare commercial and industrial mixed-use regeneration project located on the former Griesheim Industrial Park. In 1856, the former industrial site was used to manufacture chemical products; in 2020, the two companies took over administration of the site from owner Clariant Produkte.
