Cologix recently released its first Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report. Within the report, the hyperscale company made a number of commitments, including a pledge to improve its energy efficiencies and harness renewable energy options "where available." Currently, Cologix powers 45% of its operations with renewable energy in 2020, equalling 102.2 million kWh. Moreover, its report revealed that in the last year, it had pursued 51 energy efficiency improvement projects.
Commenting on the company's first report, Cologix CEO Bill Fathers: "This report marks our first effort to summarize our work in ESG. At Cologix, we have built an exceptional platform to connect people across North America. Cologix has been fortunate to grow exponentially over our 10+ years in business, and with this growth, we understand our responsibility to act as good global citizens in addition to delivering the products and services our shareholders value."
He added: "When we decided to put our' people first' strategy into action over three years ago, we focused on TRUST, which extends to our entire value chain and ecosystem, including our customers. This first report is only the beginning of our ESG strategy, focusing on a future of excellence and sustainability."
Although Cologix has made some green commitments, unlike some of its competitors in the industry, it is yet to release a date for complete carbon-neutrality.
