Cirion Technologies' data center in Carcelén, Quito, Ecuador, has obtained Tier III Certification from the Uptime Institute, it has announced.
This certification means that the company's data center meets a number of requirements, including having in place rigorous preventive maintenance procedures regarding infrastructure, processes and operations, and efficient air conditioning and cooling management.
Speaking about this, Felipe Gomez Jaramillo, Director of Data Center, Cloud & Security by Cirion for the Andean region, said: "Receiving Tier III certification from the Uptime Institute validates that Cirion has dedicated great effort to the implementation of international norms and standards so that IT services – the main resources for organizations – are always operational."
"This recognition means that the data centers were designed and built to maintain high availability of IT services, even while performing maintenance activities or replacing any distribution component or white area capacity. We have the required coverage, services and care model necessary to guarantee maximum quality, availability and security to support our customers' business", he added.
Cirion also recently outlined its plans to develop three data centers in Chile, Peru and Brazil in 2023, as part of wider expansion plans in Latin America.
