Brookfield Infrastructure Partners has announced its plans to develop nearly one gigawatt of data center capacity over the next three years. According to the company, it will "own and operate one of the largest global hyperscale data center platforms" in the world, once the purchase of Data4 and Compass are complete.
Indeed, it will push overall data center capacity to more than 485MW. The company shared that this is expected to be 90% leased on a post-close and 100% ownership basis.
The company also noted that when combined with a 775-megawatt contracted and reserved capacity backlog to be built out over the next several years, it will have over 1.25 gigawatts of capacity.
