Zeittec plans to develop a new data center for the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES) in Vitoria, Espirito Santo. The Brazilian firm plans to develop the facility in seven months. The first phase will see Zeittec renovate UFES to allow it to receive servers and all needed data center equipment. The new facility is expected to span 3,230 square feet (300 square meters) across two data halls. The data center will also be used to host the university applications and data.
Zeittec’s technical director, Fabricio Costa, said: “The first data hall will have 15 racks in its initial phase, in addition to four precision air conditioning machines and all the redundancies to guarantee the safety and high availability of the environment.” The new data center is billed to have two electrical distribution lines. This is in addition to its existing power station. It will also have a fire detection and fire fighting system in place.
