Khazna: Benya Group And Khazna Data Centers Seek to Set Up Shop in Egypt

The largest network of hyper-scale data centers in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, Khazna Data Centers (Khazna), this week announced its intention to enter the Egyptian market alongside Benya Group, the country's top integrator of solutions, digital transformation, and ICT infrastructure. Egypt's first hyper-scale data center will be erected at the Maadi Technology Park, a specialized investment zone. Egypt's enterprises seeking worldwide expansion and global corporations seeking growth and innovation in the Middle East and North African markets would benefit from the data center's 25 MW IT load. 

Egypt has invested in digital government services, infrastructure, and ICT to boost economic growth. With a future-ready digital infrastructure, this data center will help Egypt meet rising data demands. This will also boost Khazna's international expansion strategy. Eng has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). Ahmed Mekky, chair and CEO of Benya Group; Hassan Al Naqbi, CEO of Khazna Data Centers; and Eng. Amr Aboualam, Chairman of Maadi Technology Park, to acquire land at Maadi Technology Park for the new data center.  Hossam Heiba, President General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), and H.E. Mariam Khalifa Juma Mohammed Alkaabi, the ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Egypt, attended the signing ceremony to discuss ways of bringing Emirati investments to the Egyptian ICT sector and improve cooperation between Egypt and the UAE in ICT.
