AWS establishes Direct Connect location at NEC Inzai data center

AWS has announced it has announced a new AWS Direct Connect location within the NEC Inzai data center in Inzai, Japan. AWS said that this means that customers can now gain private, direct access to all public AWS Regions (bar China), AWS GovCloud Regions, and AWS Local Zones.

The Inzai location is the fourth in Japan, and offers dedicated 1 Gbps, 10 Gbps, and 100 Gbps connections, with MACsec encryption available for 10 Gbps and 100 Gbps connections.

Speaking about this development, Yuka Shigesawa, Corporate SVP and Managing Director of NEC's Managed Services Division, said: "I am very pleased to announce the expansion of our strategic collaboration agreement with AWS. We have opened an AWS Direct Connect location at NEC's Inzai Data Center that helps customers create a secure, high-speed and low-latency hybrid cloud environment with the AWS Cloud."

Adding: "Based on this environment, NEC will continue to support the acceleration of customer DX and business growth in cooperation with AWS."
