AWS US East (N. Virginia): AWS buys 17 acres in Loudoun County, North Virginia for $32.5m

According to BizJournal, Amazon Web Services is looking to expand its data center footprint in Loudoun County, North Virginia, by acquiring more land in the county. The report states that AWS bought 17.15 acres of land in the county for $32.5 million. The plot of land is currently empty, and it is situated on the corner of Pacific Boulevard and Sterling Boulevard. The Company acquired the land from Darvish Properties LLC.

North Virginia currently has the highest concentration globally, and AWS wants to expand its already significant footprint in the market. It currently has facilities in Haymarket, McNair, Chantilly, Ashburn, and Manassas.
