AT&T: AT&T’s outage impacts South Texas

The outage from AT&T which was blamed on copper thefts in the area have now impacted residents in South Dallas, Texas. Thiis outage which led to services going down since Christmas day have reportedly caused losses of revenue for businesses in the area.

AT&T said in an announcement, "We are working as quickly as possible to restore home phone and Internet service in a southern Dallas neighborhood after it was disrupted by recent copper thefts. We are working with city leaders and local law enforcement, who are investigating to find those responsible.”

The company added, "Any suggestion that location or demographics have impacted the restoration of service for our customers is false. We treat all outages with urgency and handle them as quickly as possible. There were damages to multiple pieces of equipment in multiple areas and we are working around the clock to restore service for our customers."
