Apple has announced that it has launched its Danish data center in Foulum just outside of Viborg. In the announcement, Apple also shared that it will invest in the construction of two large onshore wind turbines in Esbjerg to source clean power for the site.

The Esbjerg wind project is in addition to the recent completion of a large solar array in Thisted, Northern Jutland, Denmark. With both the solar and wind projects, the Viborg data center is powered by 100% renewable energy.

The facility was first announced in February 2015.
