Amazon AWS: Amazon To Develop New Data Center in Chantilly, Virginia

Amazon is going to develop another data center in Chantilly, Virginia. The news was first broken by BizJournal. However, it has now been confirmed with local county records that the company has been granted permission to develop the data center at 3980 Virginia Mallory Drive. The filing didn’t show building specifications. 

AWS plans to build the data center on the part of the land it bought in 2021 for $55.9 million. The land in question is a 46.4-acre plot. According to reports, Amazon will invest up to $30 million in developing the facility. The company already has a large data center footprint in Northern Virginia. Besides, it also has several data centers in Chantilly. The company has also made investments in northern Virginia in 2022. It acquired two office complexes in Loudoun County. It also bought two plots of land in Loudoun County from IPI Partners.
