Amazon has signed two Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) in India for a combined 199MW across two onshore wind projects. The first PPA was signed with CleanMax, an Asia-focused renewable developer, for energy from a 100MW onshore wind project currently under development in Koppal, Karnataka.
Kuldeep Jain, managing director at CleanMax, said: "As a company that has always championed sustainability, CleanMax is elated to collaborate with Amazon to help decarbonize its operations while also advancing the green energy landscape.”
The second PPA was signed with BluPine Energy, an Indian renewable energy developer, for energy from a 99MW wind project in India. Under the terms of the PPA, BluPine will deliver 360GWh of energy annually to Amazon.
“This collaboration with Amazon is a testament to our expertise in developing high-quality renewable energy assets that drive tangible environmental impact. As we scale towards a 1GW portfolio in the commercial and industrial segment, we remain focused on enabling businesses to transition to a cleaner energy future,” said Neerav Nanavaty, CEO of BluPine Energy.
