Aligned Data Centers has announced that it has joined the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Green Power Partnership, which aims to encourage organizations to voluntarily utilize green power for the benefit of the planet and human health. Through signing up for the Green Power Partnership, the data center company has been highlighted for its sustainability efforts, including the development of its Delta³ cooling technology, its use of OriginMark, which is an enhanced material traceability system, and its partnerships like the one it has with nZero for access to accurate data of its operational carbon footprint. Aligned has also been a front-runner with regard to its green financing, which includes its "industry-first green data center securitization" and the first-ever U.S. data center sustainability-linked financing.
Speaking about this development, Andrew Schaap, CEO of Aligned, said that the company is the data center industry's "leading change agent for sustainability," outlining: "Aligned is proud to be recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a member of its Green Power Partnership." Schaap added: "We are committed to partnering with our customers to assist them in meeting their clean energy goals as we share the path towards achieving net-zero carbon emissions and a climate secure world."
Meanwhile, James Critchfield, Program Manager of EPA's Green Power Partnership, commented: "EPA applauds Aligned Data Centers for its leadership position in the green power marketplace. Aligned Data Centers is an excellent example for other organizations in reducing greenhouse gas emissions through green power investment and use."
