Brookfield Infrastructure Partners: Alecta and Brookfield Acquire Significant Stake in Telia's Swedish Tower Business

Alecta and Brookfield Infrastructure Partners have announced the acquisition of a 49 percent stake in Telia Company’s tower business in Sweden. The acquisition comes after the firms acquired 49 percent of Telia’s tower business in Norway and Finland. The deal is worth $560 million, and it was paid in cash. In addition, the deal sees the companies take over 3,800 network sites across Sweden.

The CEO and President of Telia, Allison Kirkby, said the company is happy to have Alecta and Brookfield as partners as Telia is committed to developing and crystalizing the value of its digital infrastructure. Alecta is the largest pension fund in Sweden. Brookfield’s funding also came through its Super Core infrastructure fund.
