AirTrunk has revealed its plans for a new 320MW data center campus in Sydney. Upon completion, the facility will be the largest single hyperscale data center campus in the Asia Pacific region outside of China. The facility will be called SYD3, and it will be located in western Sydney. SYD3 will be developed over nine phases, and it will span across 8.3 hectares. An onsite 132KV substation will serve the facility. It will also be designed with a PUE of 1.15.

SYD3 is less than a kilometer from AirTrunk’s SYD1. The company says both SYD3 and SYD1 is its Western Sydney Region that will offer 450MW of capacity in total. CEO and Founder of AirTrunk, Robin Khuda, said it is an exciting day for the company as Airtrunk is back in Western Sydney where it developed its flagship SYD1 data center in 2017. He said since SYD1 is nearing full capacity, SYD3 will help the company’s major customers scale easily and create efficiencies and synergies between the connected campuses.
