AirTrunk Tokyo TOK1: AirTrunk opens TOK1 data center in Japan

AirTrunk has announced the launch of its first data center in Japan. The new facility is located in Tokyo, and it is called TOK1. It will have an initial capacity of up to 60MW. The 13.25-hectare site is located in Inzai Chiba Prefecture in Tokyo. The data center campus is also scalable to 300MW across seven different buildings. Furthermore, the campus will have 103,000 square feet (9,600 square meters) of storage and office space, 600,000 square feet (56,000 square meters) of technical data hall space, and 42 data halls upon full build-out.

CEO and Founder of AirTrunk, Robin Khuda, said the opening of the new data center is an incredible milestone for the company. He noted that the company would be supporting the digital transformation of Japan by bringing its market-leading scale, reliability, speed, and efficiency to the country. The company first announced the TOK1 facility in September 2020. The first phase of the facility was completed in 45 weeks.
