Orange and Capgemini team up to launch French cloud company, Bleu

May 27, 2021 | Posted by Abdul-Rahman Oladimeji

Capgemini and Orange will be setting up a new cloud Company called Bleu to meet the strict sovereignty requirements of the French state. The new Company will offer both Microsoft Azure and 365 cloud services. However, both Capgemini and Orange will manage the data centers. Worthy of note is that the new data centers are different from the Azure infrastructure.

The new Company, Bleu, will now be able to make bids for both government and critical infrastructure projects, which foreign companies are not allowed to bid for due to the new French cloud rule. However, one thing is unclear- if Bleu will be renting colocation spaces or if it will own data centers outright.

Orange has 11 sites.
